Meditation for Mental Health Professionals
Meditation is an ancient art, practiced since at least1500 BCE in numerous forms of religious practices, often as part of a path towards enlightenment and self-awareness. Meditation is now practiced by an estimated 200-500 million people worldwide.
Studies have indicated a positive impact of meditation in reducing stress and enhancing general wellbeing. Several studies have also suggested that meditation can be helpful for the treatment of anxiety, addiction, aggression, suicidality and depression. This course will focus on clinical approaches to mindfulness meditation reviewing current evidence, how to incorporate mindfulness into your practice, offer guided practices, scripts and worksheets for clients.
